Wisconsin vehicle registration fees are going up.

Wisconsin residents will soon pay more than for their almanac car registrations — and a lot more for vehicle title fees.

Both changes become into upshot Oct. 1. But residents with machine registrations expiring Sept. thirty are also subject to the increased fees, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Wisconsin vehicle title fees

The vehicle title fee will increase from $69.50 to $164.50.

The fee for transferring a vehicle title subsequently the death of a spouse or partner is likewise going up, from $62 to $157.

Wisconsin annual car registration fees

For automobiles, the almanac registration will increase from $75 to $85.

Other vehicle registration tips

Vehicles made after 1996 that are kept in Sheboygan, Washington, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha counties are also subject to emission tests.

The test is required every two years at the time of registration renewal, or when a vehicle changes ownership.

Emissions tests are gratis, but if your motorcar doesn't pass, you may have to pay to make repairs until it does.

Unlike other states, Wisconsinites exercise not have to have their cars undergo periodic safety inspections.
